Symposium on Science and Engineering From October 17 to 20 in Pokhara

The third biannual international conference on material science and engineering – Kathmandu Symposia on Advanced Materials (KaSAM) – is being held this year in Pokhara, Nepal from October 17 to 20. Nepal Polymer Institute (NPI), a Kathmandu-based professional organization of polymer scientists is organizing the conference. NPI also represents the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) in Nepal.
This annual event has, over the last few years, manifested itself as a valuable platform where researchers, academics and industry professionals come together to discuss the latest trends and advances in materials science and engineering. The objective of the symposium is to promote dialogue and exchange of ideas among experts from various disciplines, as well as identify and address prospects for future inter-disciplinary collaboration.

According to Prof. Dr. Rameshwar Adhikari of Tribhuvan University’s Central Department of Chemistry, the biannual event initiated from 2012 aims at promoting scientific activities outside the Capital. At the same time, the event looks forward to providing a global platform to students, young researchers, faculties, and policy makers in various avenues of chemistry, material sciences, chemical technologies, nanotechnology and related biomedical sciences.

The conference will be attended by eminent scientists and professors of 15 countries, including Prof. Mushahid Husain (Vice Chancellor of M J. P. Rohilkhand University, Bareily, India), Prof. Goerg H. Michler(Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenbberg, Germany), Prof. Bernhard Blümich(Aachen University, Germany), Prof. Michael Hess (University of Siegen, Germany), Prof. HolgerSchönherr(University of Siegen, Germany), Prof. Jean Marc Saiter(University of Rouen, France), Prof. Valerio Causin(Padova University, Italy), Prof. Tomasz Sterzinsky(Poznan University of Technology, Poland), among others.

The event will be composed of distinguished keynote and invited speakers, a panel discussion, and a poster session. The dedicated poster session is designed to offer researchers and students a chance to present their findings in the form of a poster and receive valuable feedback from attendees.
